About FlySee and how we check rules

The guides on this site are written by the FlySee Team.

What FlySee is

FlySee is an iPhone app that keeps a record of the days you spend in each country — rebuilt from your photos, kept up to date in the background, and correctable by hand — and counts it against rules such as Schengen 90/180 and tax-residency day tests. It counts days; it doesn’t give legal, tax or immigration advice.

How we check each rule page

  • Primary sources only. Every statement about a rule comes from the government or official body that sets it — GOV.UK and HMRC, the IRS and USCIS, the European Commission, canada.ca, the Australian Department of Home Affairs, national tax authorities. Each page lists its sources with the date we read them.
  • A last-checked date. The date under each title is when its sources were last read. Rules change; when one does, we update the page and the date.
  • What we couldn’t confirm, we leave out. Where an official source doesn’t say something — for example, how a day of travel counts — the page doesn’t guess, and its calculator asks for numbers you can get from the official tool instead.
  • Calculators tested against the app. Where the app has a tracker for a rule, the page’s calculator counts it the same way, and is tested against the same cases — including the European Commission’s own Schengen examples. Where the app has no tracker yet, the calculator applies the official formula, and the page says so.
  • No advice. Each page ends with the same line as the app: FlySee counts days; whether you can stay, whether you’re resident or whether you qualify is for the authorities, you and your adviser.

Your data

The calculators run in your browser: the dates you type aren’t sent anywhere or stored. The app keeps your record on your iPhone, with no account — see the Privacy Policy.

Found something wrong?

Email support@flysee.app with the page and what you found; we check it against the source and correct the page.
